Terms and Conditions

Prices

All prices are non negotiable and cake prices are priced to your required design, which includes detail and size of the cake. Please see pricing section for details on prices.

Quotation

Please note that any quotation I give a customer is valid for 2 weeks, after this period you will need to seek advise from me as to whether the price has changed or not.

For wedding cakes, quotations are valid for 4 weeks.

My prices for Cookies and Macarons are also valid for a 2 week period.

Paying a deposit within this 2 week time frame will secure the price and a slot in my diary.

Deposit & Payment

A non refundable deposit of 50% is required in order to secure your chosen date in my diary for your order.

If your deposit is not paid then I reserve the right to book in another order which could mean that I will have to decline your order request. I will not chase any customers for deposit payment, and if the deposit is not paid, then I cannot guarantee that your order will be processed.

For the deposit you can pay by cheque, bank transfer or cash. Please note that a cheque is not acceptable for the final method of payment.

Cheques can be made payable to Stevie’s Pantry

Payment can be made by bank transfer to *****************

Please contact me once the deposit has been paid, so that I can check it has been received and acknowledge receipt to you.

Design, Alteration and Changes

I always like to have a visual guide for us to work on when discussing your order. I can design your cake, or order for you, or we can do this together. I am happy to work from a picture of what you would like, please note that, I may have to seek permission from the original designer of the cake / order if distinctive, otherwise I will have to alter the design slightly so that I am not “copying” the design.

It is your responsibility to read and check the quote thoroughly and any amendments to design needs to be informed to me asap, ideally in writing. It is your responsibility to inform me ideally before paying a deposit of any changes or amendments on the design.

I will try to accommodate your request for any changes, but please be aware that sometimes this is not always possible, due to the changes requested or the time frame given for these changes. If the changes requested affects the cost given in relation to the original quote then an amendment charge will be given in addition.

Please note that I reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances beyond my control compromise the quality of the finished cake, e.g, melting due to hot weather. I will do my best to inform you of any changes I make before hand.

Please note that all cakes are made by hand and each cake is individual. I will of course ensure that each cake is made with the best likeness to the design or picture given of the requested order. However a small variation may occur from the initial design.

If you would like to colour match anything in particular so that the cake matches the styling of a event, please provide me with a swatch colour so that I can match the colour for you as soon as possible.

Cancellation

If cancellation of an order is requested by the customer after the deposit has been paid, then I reserve the right to keep the 50% non refundable deposit. If cancellation takes place less than 7 days before the date of the order, then I reserve the right to seek 100% of the order.

Cancellation must be made in writing to me either by letter or email, and the cancellation will be taken into effect once I have read and responded to the cancellation request.

If you decide to postpone your order and therefore change the date, then I will try my best to accommodate the new date for you, however this may not always be possible.

I retain the right to cancel the order in very unusual circumstances, which will be beyond my control, such as sickness or ill health, or other unusual incidences such as fire or water damage. Any money taken for an order, will be refunded in full.

Delivery

I do not tend to offer delivery at the moment for any order. Unless the cake needs setting up, such as a large wedding cake or another type of celebration cake. If delivery of an order is requested, then I will try to make arrangements to accommodate, but I cannot guarantee this.

Delivery costs will be in addition to an order quotation, and the cost for delivery will be priced according to mileage and my time.

If delivery is opted for and I am able to accommodate, it will be your responsibility to inform me correctly of the venue date, time and location, and if there is an events planner or contact person I will need to liaise with.

I will always endeavour to deliver the order within a suitable timeframe, for the event start time, and factors beyond my control (such as Traffic) will be informed to the contact person as quickly as possible. If any delivery is late due to circumstances I cannot control, I would like to offer a compensation of a maximum, being the delivery amount.

I cannot be held responsible for any damage to the cake after I have delivered the cake to the venue and I have left the premises. I will need to have a representative from the venue to check the cake and take responsibility before I leave the venue.

You will need to ensure also that conditions for the cake are correct, for instance, on a hot day or generally during the summer months, the cake will need to have air conditioning at the venue, as a hot room can effect the cake.

If collecting a cake, I will not be held responsible for any damage to the cake once it has left my premises.

When travelling with a cake, please DO NOT place the cake on a seat in the car, seats are slanted and can damage the cake or slide off of the seat whilst driving. The cake should be placed securely in the boot or in the foot well of the car on a non – slip mat (please ask for one if you do not already have one).

Extra care should always be taken when driving, particularly over bumps in the road.

Please discuss your method of transporting the cake with me before the collection date, so that I can advise you.

I recommend collecting your order as close to the date of the event as possible, so that it is as fresh as can be.

Damages

Please note that during the hot months of the year, I advise caution when ordering cakes made from just buttercream or chocolate as the weather impacts the cake and could cause melting. I have no control over the environment which the cake will be left in and therefore I will advise you as best as possible how to reduce this risk.

Please remember that all of these edible items, including my cakes, macarons, biscuits, cake toppers, flowers are all very delicate. I cannot accept any responsibility for damage that has be made to these items after it has left my possession.

If any damages have been made to the order after it has left my possession, then you can advise me and request a repair, this will be costed accordingly, including transportation costs.

Best Before

All orders are baked to ensure the upmost freshness for the date of your event, in which case, I always like to ensure that pick up of the order is as close to the event date as possible.

All orders are baked fresh, I do not freeze any of my cakes, so therefore all cakes would be suitable for home freezing after the cake has been cut. You would need to ensure that the cake has been protected as much as possible and covered in cling film, so that the cake doesn’t dry out. The cake would also need to be wrapped in cling film before being stored in the freezer. Please note that freezing will alter the appearance of the fondant (icing).

Food hygiene recommendations stage that food should only be stored for a maximum of 3 months.

I recommend that any cakes be consumed within a 48hour period, and macarons be consumed within 10 days.

All cakes and any baked goods from me are made entirely out of natural and where possible fresh ingredients, there are no additives or preservatives added to my baked goods, and therefore they will not have a natural prolonged shelf life like supermarket cakes and bakes.

Storage before event

I recommend that you do not store any decorated cakes in a fridge or freezer before your event. Refrigeration will cause condensation on the cake and I cannot guarantee the quality of how the cake will look once this has happened. A cake needs to be stored ideally at a cooler room temperature, and at a venue, air conditioning is preferred, particularly on hot days. All cakes should be stored on a flat surface.

Macarons, should be stored in an air tight container in the fridge before the event, and before eating they should be taken out of the fridge and brought up to room temperature. Macarons can last longer if stored in an air tight container.

Biscuits should be kept in an air tight container out of the fridge until serving. If the biscuits have been requested to be wrapped in a cellphones bag then these are fine as they are up until the event date.

Hiring

If you would like to hire a cake stand or decorations, then a cash deposit is required prior to releasing the item.

Deposit amounts vary depending upon the value of the item being hired, as well as a hire charge.

You will need to make arrangements to ensure that all goods are returned to me within 5 days of release.

Once I received back the hired item, I will release the deposit held subject to no breakages or damages at all.

Complaints

If you have any concerns about your order, please notify me at the time of collection / delivery so that I may have time to rectify it before the event.

All other concerns should be made in writing please, so that I can formally respond. Any evidence should also be included.

If you are complaining for a refund, I would need to receive back at least 75% of the uneaten product, within 24 hours of delivery/collection.

Please note that it is very common for fondant (icing) to crack, as it dries out, which is  out of my control, and hence I make the cakes fresh as close to the date of the event as possible, to avoid this happening. (This has not happened to date, but it is still important to say)

I do not accept complaints for not liking the taste of my products, mainly because each individuals taste is different. I can offer a tasting service for a small fee which allows you to taste the product in question should you wish to do so prior to ordering.
